Winter 2017/2018

- A three step course on improving and refining your application to the Innovation Fond Denmark Grand Solutions Programme

06.12.2017 kl. 10.30 - 20.02.2018 kl. 11.00

Are you planning to apply for funding at the Innovation Fund Denmark (IFD)? Would you welcome advice from experienced colleagues in the process? Then you may attend the course “How to write an excellent application” organized by F&P in AAU Innovation. The course is targeted to researchers at all levels planning to submit an application for the Grand Solution call in early 2018.

With Grand Solutions, the Innovation Fund Denmark invests in highly ambitious projects with regards to economic value, creation of new jobs or tangible solutions to societal challenges. Grand Solutions projects develop new innovative solutions based on excellent research conducted by a strong team.

During the first day of the course, we will open the session presenting “The current funding landscape”. This presentation is open to all researchers whether they participate or not in the course.

Content of the course

During the course, former members of the IFD Council and experienced researchers and reviewers from AAU will provide an inside view of the procedures within the council and reveal what the reviewers look for in an application. The AAU evaluators will offer a guide to the do’s and don’ts of proposal writing.

The training will take part in groups of 4 to 6 applicants and will be based on the applicants’ ideas and drafts. The participants will be given the chance to get their own proposals or ideas evaluated by the AAU evaluators, in this way optimize their proposals, and hopefully improve their chances for a successful evaluation in the councils.

The course will also focus on how to the deal with all the administrative issues related to the application. Session 1 will be common for participants of the Grand Solution How to Write Course and Industrial researcher. Due to the nature of the instruments and different deadline for each programme we will then hold session 2 and 3 separetely.

At the end of the training, the participants will submit an application to the The Innovation Fond Denmark.

In this way, the course will offer the participants a unique opportunity to learn the trade of writing research proposals for the Innovation Fund Denmark and other funding sources

If you want to participate you are required to send a short abstract (max half a page) of your project idea to ifi@adm.aau.dk by the 16 of November. This will allow us to promptly prepare the groups prior to the course and according to research and interest area.
